Organisation background

Duke‑NUS Medical School (Duke‑NUS) was established through a landmark collaboration between Duke University and the National University of Singapore, with the objective of providing innovative education and impactful research that enhance the practice of medicine in Singapore and beyond.

The Centre of Regulatory Excellence (CoRE) was established at Duke‑NUS in 2014 with the mission of forming regional platforms and networks to grow competencies, build capacity, and promote thought leadership in regulatory science and health policy in the Asia Pacific, with a focus on Southeast Asia. CoRE has established a strong and highly regarded education portfolio for industry professionals and regulators.

In 2023, Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG) appointed CoRE to set up and lead the new Standards Development Organisation (SDO) supporting the Biomedical and Health Standards Committee (BHSC), to develop and promote national and international standards in the domain.

Open position 1: Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager (AI and Health Informatics Standardisation)

CoRE-SDO is seeking a high-calibre Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager to lead national and international standardisation initiatives in AI and Health Informatics. This role sits at the intersection of technology, healthcare policy, and global standards development, shaping how Singapore contributes to and adopts trusted AI and digital health standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide secretariat support to the operations of the Technical Committee for Healthcare and Health Informatics (TC-HCHI) and its working groups (AI in Healthcare, Genomics Informatics, Data Interoperability, Medical Device Security, etc.).
• Identify and evaluate emerging standardisation opportunities aligned with the strategic objectives of the Singapore Standards Council.
• Drive the development, adoption, and promotion of national and international standards in collaboration with regulators, healthcare institutions, academia, and industry partners.
• Establish and manage expert working groups to draft, review, and refine standards.
• Convene and facilitate technical meetings to achieve consensus and technical progression.
• Support and coordinate Singapore’s participation in international standards activities, including ISO engagements, global meetings, and study missions.
• Engage stakeholders to accelerate implementation and adoption of standards through industry outreach, conferences, workshops, and launch events.
• Ensure strict compliance with governance frameworks, SOPs, and audit requirements.
• Contribute strategically to capability building in AI and digital health standardisation.
